Han Xie (MSc)
MSc student in Asian Studies
I am a master’s student in Asian Studies at Lund University, Sweden, currently in my final year. I completed my undergraduate studies in International Politics in Shanghai, and during my third year, I spent six months as an exchange student at Sciences Po in Paris, focusing on political theory and contemporary French politics. My undergraduate thesis examined strategic issues in Turkey and Central Asia.
My current research interests center on political sociology and comparative politics, with a focus on theories of authoritarianism and classical democratic theory. Notably, I primarily approach the study of modernity in different regimes from a critical feminist perspective, analyzing its implications for civil society and the state.
Outside of academia, I am passionate about humanistic photography and producing documentary films on social issues. I am currently working on my first project, gathering materials and designing the script, and I hope that this visual approach can bring a more diverse dimension to my future academic work.
